The purpose of the Civil Rights Activist Committee is to document the countless stories of Foot Soldiers through the collection of their names and addresses in order to devise an active database and a written record of their stories. It is also mainstreamed on the movement by engaging in workshops, seminars and speaking engagements throughout the city of Birmingham, the State of Alabama, and any state within this nation. Such engagements include workshops at elementary, secondary, and post secondary educational institutions, churches and special events using a hands on training method as the key to the educational process. It also uses as a trainint tool video/audio DVD's and CD's as part of the educational Process.
Yearly, the civil rights activist committee host a "Civil Rights Foot Soldier Reunion" and bring to the forefront thousands of Foot Soldiers who actively engaged in demonstrations, protest marches, and sit-ins of the civil right movement for equal justice in order to give honor to those who sacrificed their lives and livelihood.
The most important facet of the organization is to encourage voter registration by engaging in voter registration campaigns at all special events and workshops. This organization feel that in order to utilize what thousands of Foot Soldiers died to achieve voting is a must.
There were voiced events that are unpublished and those are the events that helped achieve the Civil Rights Act so that poor whites and blacks could participate in the Democratic process and equal rights of this nation. The committee was incorporated in order to help provide information and more enlightened facts in a corporate manner. With the incorporation of the committee, affidavits and pictures of persons and events unpublished, unknown and known anti-human acts done to the Civil Rights workers.
